EBT & SNAP at FreshDirect

FreshDirect is excited to announce that we now accept Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) across our entire New York delivery zone.  Shop FreshDirect>

How it works:

  1. Shop: Create a FreshDirect account and shop for SNAP-eligible items.
  2. Payment: At checkout, select "EBT" as your form of payment. There is a $30 minimum per delivery.
  3. Delivery: Your order will be delivered during the designated timeslot that you choose.

What to know:

  1. Orders paid for with EBT Food cards may only contain SNAP-eligible items. For more info, visit the USDA website.
  2. FreshDirect currently only accepts NY state-issued EBT Food Cards.
  3. Upon submitting your order, you will see an estimated total. On the date of delivery, the EBT card will be charged for the final total amount for the order.
  4. EBT payments cannot be mixed with credit or debit cards. You must place a separate order for any items you wish to pay for via other methods.
  5. There will be no delivery fee, tax, or surcharge for EBT program deliveries. Mandatory state bottle deposits apply, but can be paid for with an EBT card.
  6. You can change, reschedule, or cancel your order up until the cutoff shown on your order confirmation. The order may be returned to FreshDirect if you cancel after the deadline or do not have sufficient funds on your EBT card. If this happens, you may lose the ability to use your EBT card at FreshDirect.
  7. E-tipping is not available with EBT cards. If you wish to provide a tip for your delivery person, you may do so in cash.
  8. To protect the health and safety of our personnel, FreshDirect has delivery policies that apply to all orders. These include but are not limited to:
    • No deliveries to walk ups more than 5 floors, including when the elevator is out of service.
    • Purchases of case beverages may be limited.
    • No deliveries of more than 3 case beverages above 4 floors.
  9. If you are dissatisfied with an item you receive, visit our help page to get in touch with our Customer Service team and request a credit.

All deliveries are subject to the FreshDirect Customer Agreement and Privacy Policy.
