Promised Land Chanukah Candles

Making Chanukah bright! Chanukah — the Festival of Lights — is celebrated every year to mark the victory of the Jews over the Greek Empire and the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. When the Maccabees re-entered the Holy Temple, they miraculously found one remaining small jar of pure olive oil to light the Menorah, which burned eight days instead of the standard one day. To signify this miracle, candles are lit each evening beginning with one candle on the first night and adding an additional candle each night for eight nights. (from Promised Land)
