Also known as Kesar Mango. The Kesar Mango Hailing from the Gujarat region of India, these intensely sweet and much-celebrated mangoes are affectionately known in their homeland as the "queen of mangoes." They're grown by our friends at Savani Farm, a family-owned and operated plantation located on 150 acres close to the Gir National Park. Due to this proximity, the farm provides an important corridor for wildlife making their way to the park, and lions and leopards can often be found roaming the orchards or snoozing in the shade of a mango tree. The season for queen mangoes is short — just 6-8 weeks — and runs from mid-May to early July, so these royal beauties are only available for a limited time. (from Savani Farms)
