Raised in Vietnam in partially open coastal bodies of water called estuaries, the shrimp come of age where freshwater from rivers and streams mixes with saltwater from the ocean. This environment mimics the natural habitat of the shrimp in the wild state. The shrimp feed on a natural diet of plankton, free from antibiotics, hormones or other chemical additives, resulting in exceptional flavor and texture. Within 90 minutes of harvest, they are processed and frozen, preserving optimum freshness.
