12 Days of Cookies: Snowball Cookies from Brain of Bryn
We’ve made it the the final day of 12 days of cookies! Time to pour a big glass of milk and celebrate with one last cookie recipe.
These snowball cookies from Brain of Bryn couldn’t be a more perfect way to cap off this series of festive holiday baking. We’ll let Bryn take it from here:
From Bryn: SNOW! One of my very favorite things. So bringing snow to life on the cookie tray makes me happy at the holidays.
Below is my family recipe for Christmas Snowballs—they’re super easy to create at home. Mom and I made them together a few weeks ago in her cozy kitchen upstate while the snow swirled around outside and they were simply perfect.
Snowball Cookies
What You’ll Need:
1 cup oleo
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or other nuts
Confectioner’s sugar
What to do:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Mix together the oleo, granulated sugar, vanilla, flour, salt, and nuts until a dough forms. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet.
Bake balls 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile, place some confectioner’s sugar on a plate. As soon as the balls are done baking, roll the balls in the confectioner’s sugar, working quickly to avoid burns. Set aside to cool.
Once the balls have cooled, roll them in more confectioner’s sugar until well-coated all over.
